The Undergraduate Certificate in Community Support is being offered fee-free for 2022. This course has been specifically designed to provide a contemporary qualification for:
Professionals already working in disability, mental health, aged care, youth work and other social and community services seeking a university qualification which builds upon and evidences their sector experience, and people interested in starting a career in the social care and community services sectors
The Undergraduate Certificate in Community Support comprises 4 units (subjects) which are studied part-time (2 subjects/semester) in 2022. We provide both face-to-face and fully online options, allowing participants to build the contemporary knowledge, skills and practices foundational to a broad range of ‘helping professional’ roles, from anywhere in Australia.
In collaboration with our industry partners and colleagues, this course has been designed to meet current and future consumer, community and workforce needs by focussing on core skills such as self-awareness, resilience, advocacy, working in enabling and empowering ways, and promoting equity, diversity and inclusion.
Students in this course will engage with real-world issues and contexts, exploring current trends, changes and challenges in the social and community services sectors. With a focus on achieving positive outcomes for individuals, families, communities and organisations, students will engage with emerging technologies, industry standards and principles of continuous quality improvement.
Completion of the Undergraduate Certificate in Community Support will also provide graduates with advanced standing toward a Diploma and Associate Degree in Applied Health and Community Support.
