Our Values

Your trusted voice in mental health.

But what does that mean? How does our tagline translate into what we do, who we are and how we help?

For us, being the trusted voice in mental health means that everything we do – from the people we hire, the volunteers and reps we onboard, the organisations we partner with, the feedback we seek, and the resources we create – is informed by the everyday lived experiences of mental health and AOD families and friends.

Our values are:

  • Respect: We display respect for our staff, and all stakeholders
    engaging with MHFFTas
  • Courage: Our advocacy model enables us to address issues and ideas on behalf of families and friends. We’ll
manage this with courage, integrity and humility and keep the best interests of families and friends at the forefront
  • Integrity: We’re committed to being honest and
    supportive in all our interactions
  • Inclusiveness: We’re an inclusive organisation and we live our inclusivity across our everyday interactions with the
general community and stakeholders. You have healthcare rights. Read the Australian Charter of Healthcare Rights
  • Compassion: We emphasise with and take action to support people who experience mental ill health, and their supporters, both paid and unpaid
