Health Consumers Tasmania invites you and your colleagues to undertake our free three-hour introductory training session in Health Consumer Representation and Engagement.
There are 2 different sessions available.
For Health Staff
Wednesday 26 May
9am to 12pm, Rydges North Hobart

The morning session is directed towards staff who wish to engage with health consumers for co-design or systemic improvements. It is available to staff from all sectors – government, community and private. In this session we will talk about how to involve health consumer representatives in consultation and committee processes, and some of the engagement problems you might need to manage. Morning tea is provided.
For Patients, Carers and Community Representatives
Wednesday 26 May
1pm to 4pm, Rydges North Hobart

This afternoon session is for patients, carers, and general members of the community who are interested in being a health consumer representative and advocating for a better health system. We will discuss the different opportunities available for you to partner with health services and participate in their consultation and committee processes, as well as what might be expected of you if you engage a formal role. Afternoon tea is provided.
Pre-reading for both sessions is provided online by coordinators of the Associate Degree in Applied Health and Community Support, University College, University of Tasmania.
