Petition to recognise and enshrine the rights for Australian mental health and AOD families and friends.
MHFFTas are proud to be a part of a research project that commenced at the August TheMHS Conference in 2023 on the human rights of families and friends. More than ninety mental health families, carers and supporters, and allies came together to discuss experiences of rights violations and to identify urgent actions required to uphold the collective rights of this community. This research team consists of representatives from Tandem, Lived Experience Australia, Flinders University, Monash University and RMIT University.
The first piece of work has been released and was presented at this year’s TheMHS Conference. We would ask families, friends, key stakeholders, and allies to read and pledge your support by signing the change.org petition. Donations are not sought, so please do not donate, your signature is the only power we need to recognise and enshrine rights for Australian mental health and AOD families and friends.
