Exciting update community for mental health teams: Extended service hours in Southern Tasmania

The Mental Health Reform Program is pleased to provide an important update for consumers and families and friends already receiving support from mental health services in the south.

The Continuing Care Teams (CCT) service hours are now 8.30am – 10pm, seven days a week. This is a change from the previous 8pm service finish that increases the availability of services, up to 10pm at night.

Each Mental Health Continuing Care Team will work until 8pm as usual with one team now working through to 10pm every day.

If you need to reach the Extended Hours Team for additional support, information or advice, up to 10pm please call your usual number:

Clarence CCT                                6166 5700

Hobart CCT                                   6166 1161

Glenorchy CCT                             6166 6242

Calls will be automatically forwarded to the Extended Hours Team that is working.

If you cannot reach your team, please call Access Mental Health on 1800 332 388.

This change brings the Continuing Care Teams in line with other services in Statewide Mental Health Services. It reflects the commitment to increasing access to mental health care in the community and was developed in consultation with lived experience representatives from Mental Health Lived Experience Tasmania and Mental Health Families and Friends.

Feedback will be gathered about this change, from all stakeholders including consumers and families and friends.

The Reform Program extends thanks to everyone for their input in reaching this exciting milestone.
