Mental Health First Aid & Suicide Prevention Training Report
The Department of Health and Human Services provided a one-off grant of $20,000 to MHFFTas in March 2017 to provide mental health first aid and suicide prevention education and training state wide to carers and families consistent with the Plan for a Brighter Future-Deliverables 2017 and the Suicide Prevention Workforce Development and Training Plan for Tasmania (2016-2020).
MHFFTas received an additional $30,000 in January 2018 to continue rolling out the training across the state. Mental health first aid training commenced in June 2018 and the training will be finalised by November 2018, suicide prevention training will commence in March 2019 and be completed by April 2019.
