Would you like to learn how to safely, helpfully and confidently support and talk about mental health and mental illnesses? Or would you like to learn how to support someone who is feeling suicidal?

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training will teach you practical skills to support someone with a mental health problem.

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) “Conversations about Suicide” training will teach you practical skills to support someone who is feeling suicidal.

Both of these trainings will help improve knowledge of mental illnesses, treatments and first aid actions, increase confidence in providing first aid, decrease stigma and increase the support provided to others.

mental health families and friends Tasmania, through funding from Mental Health Council Tasmania’s Community Wellbeing Grants program, is pleased to offer TWO Conversations About Suicide training and ONE Mental Health First Aid training to the Derwent Valley Community.

These series of courses will be delivered in 2021 by Bec Thomas from Rising Kind.

The dates are:

CONVERSATIONS ABOUT SUICIDE: March 27th 2021 – 9:30 am to 2pm

CONVERSATIONS ABOUT SUICIDE: May 8th 2021 – 9:30 am to 2pm

MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID: Thursday 15th and Thursday 22nd April 2021 – 9:30 am to 4:30pm

Venue: Derwent Valley Community House – The Avenue, Willow Court, New Norfolk
