Our First Conversations with Families and Friends for 2025: Learn all about the Older Persons Mental Health Service.

Mental Health Families and Friends Tasmania are excited  to continue our Conversations with Families and Friends program into 2025.

Our Conversations with Families and Friends is an education and information program that is for those who have lived or living experience supporting a family member or friend who has or does live with:

  • Mental ill health
  • Suicidality, and or
  • Alcohol and other drug use.

This month, (March 7th 2025, 11am-1pm) we will be hearing from Miranda Ashby, Matthew Fasnacht, and Stuart Beard from the Older Person Mental Health Services to talk about how we support a loved one who doesn’t want to engage in supports and consultation on the new model of care for Older Persons Mental Health Services.

You can expect time at the beginning of the session to hear the guest speakers talk about:

  • How do we support a loved one who doesn’t want to engage in supports
  • Quick update on the Reforms

In the last part of the session, we will hold a consultation on the Model of Care

These sessions ARE NOT FOR:
  • service providers
  • consumers
  • Those under 18 years of age

**We understand that many people wear many hats, we just ask that you come as in your role as a support person and understand that this is a space for families and friends to be able to speak freely and without judgement.
